What is the TXST Mobile App?
The TXST Mobile app is a streamlined mobile experience that provides quick access to many disparate university resources. TXST Mobile can help you keep track of your class schedule, keep tabs on any account billing or holds, stay up-to-date on university news, navigate the university campus, and find information on university resources in a single app experience.
The app is personalized to meet your needs as a student, faculty, or staff member.

Will the app replace any existing tools?
The app provides quick, limited access to many TXST digital resources in one place but does not replace any core platforms such as Canvas. It acts as a gateway to access resources and services easily.

Who can use the app?
The app is available to all members of the Texas State University community. Currently enrolled students will see many robust features that let them track their personalized TXST journey, while faculty and guests can benefit from timely news and announcements, events calendars, and navigation resources.

Where can I download the app?
The TXST Mobile app is available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Search for TXST Mobile or use the links provided on https://www.mobile.txst.edu.

Is there a cost to download or use the app?
No. The TXST Mobile app is completely free to download and use.
Features and Functionality

What features are included in the new app?
Some of the core features exclusively for enrolled students include:
- Personalized dashboard with quick access to your class schedules, scholarships, billing, holds, and more.
- Canvas at a Glance, including course due dates, messages, and announcements
- Seamless athletics event check-ins
Features for the entire TXST community include:
- Campus maps for San Marcos and Round Rock
- Bobcat Shuttle stops and schedule
- Athletics news, information, and calendars
- On-campus dining information
- University events calendar
- News from the University

Can I customize my app experience?
Yes! The app has several customization options.
Available to all users is customization of the navigation menu. Users can select their most used links, and add them to the top of the in-app menu.
Users can also customize the app by selecting a user persona, which tailors the app's content based on their relationship with the university. Students, faculty, and staff will need to sign in to access their respective customized experiences. Once signed in, users will gain access to additional, personalized content like their class schedules and billing.

What devices are supported?
The TXST Mobile app is supported on most modern iOS and Android devices. We recommend using the latest version of your mobile operating system for the best experience.

What if I experience a bug or technical issue?
If you experience any technical difficulties, please contact mobilefeedback@txstate.edu or call ITAC at 512-245-4822.

Will I need to log in?
Yes. Some features of the app require you to log in with your TXST NetID and password. Public content (like maps, dining, or events) is accessible without login.
Profiles for students, staff and faculty within the app also require a TXST NetID and password. The ‘Guest’ profile does not require a NetID or password to access the profile. -
Is my data secure?
Yes. The app uses secure authentication and encryption to protect your university credentials and personal data.

What types of push notifications will I receive?
The TXST Mobile app may send push notifications to keep you informed about important campus updates. These include:
- Class or registration deadlines
- Campus event reminders
- App feature updates or tips
- Notifications based on your role (e.g., student, faculty, staff)

How can I check past notifications?
Messages are displayed in the message center for up to a month unless an expiration date is specified. To view past notifications, you’ve received from the TXST Mobile app:
- Open the TXST Mobile app.
- Locate the ‘Menu’ button at the bottom of the screen
- Select ‘message center’
- A list of recent messages will be available for you to review.
For any in-app banner messages, users can click on the X button so that it no longer displays within the screen, but the message would still exist within the message center until the message expiration date.

How do I change my in-app persona?
The TXST Mobile app offers multiple persona options which are tailored to specific roles at the university. Currently available are Student, Faculty and Staff, and Guest. Each persona offers unique content deemed to be most relevant to that role. Guest is the only persona available to users without an active TXST NetID log-in. The persona you're currently using the app as will be reflected most prominently at the top of your app's home screen.
To change personas, tap the user icon in the top right, then tap ‘My Persona.’ This will take you to the persona selection screen, where you can select the correct experience.
Athletics
The Athletics screen in TXST Mobile includes unique integration with the Bobcat Bonus program for students.

What is Bobcat Bonus?
Win free merch from TXST Bobcat Athletics for attending point-eligible home games! Bobcat Bonus inside the Athletics section of the app has more information about rewards and how to redeem them.

Are there other Athletics reward opportunities besides the Bobcat Bonus program?
Yes, visit the Athletics website for a full list of contests and in-game promotions.

Do I have to have my physical student ID card to check into events?
No, you can use the QR code in the TXST Mobile app to check-in. Just go to the Athletics screen, and tap on the Check-in option.

Why don't I see all of my points?
It can take a few days for your points to appear in your account. If it's been longer, and you still aren't seeing your points, contact Athletics.

Can I pick up rewards I forgot about last season/year.
Since rewards are granted in a single season, they cannot be redeemed in a new season if you forgot to pick them up. We've updated our process to include friendly mobile reminders so you don't miss out on any more rewards.

Will the app be updated with new features?
Yes. We will regularly release updates to improve the experience and introduce new functionality. Be sure to enable automatic updates on your device to stay current.
Troubleshooting

I've customized my menu, but the home screen is still the same. Where are my custom menu items?
The custom menu options are only available in the app's main menu, accessible via the menu icon in the bottom right of the screen. The links featured on the home screen are popular features, placed there for quick access.
Customizing the links on the home screen is not technically supported at this time.

I'm a faculty member, but the app is showing me the Student home screen. What should I do?
Double-check that you are signed in to the correct persona. Go to the home screen on your app, and confirm it says “Faculty and Staff” at the top. If it says “Guest” or “Student,” you will need to change your persona.
If the persona is correct, there may be an issue with your TXST account, and you will need to contact ITAC support.
